Finalist January Updates

Finalist 3.5.9 is live on the App Store. These changes have been cooking since December, with lots of quality-of-life improvements.

Finalist January Updates

You might have noticed a few smaller point releases trickle out over the last 30 days, here's the rundown:

The new macOS menu bar window is probably my favorite addition. Click the menu bar icon and you'll see your reminders, weather, calendar events, and planner highlights all in one glance. It's become my default way to check what's coming up without switching apps. Keyboard shortcuts also got a major upgrade to work more consistently and avoid conflicts with some system shortcuts.

Yearly Planner now shows up to 8 calendar events for each day as small color tags, so you can spot busy periods at a glance. You can also long-press any day in the Weekly or Monthly view to edit Highlights directly.

Calendar events gained a Location field with map sharing, plus an option to show end times. And if you use subscribed calendars, there's a new "Dim read-only events" toggle that can turn off showing subscribed calendars in smaller font.

Quick entry got easier: long-press a day to add items directly to it, or tap the Morning/Afternoon/Evening headers to drop a task into that slot.

Journal tags finally work, and entries now sort newest-first.

Performance improvements across the board, especially for people with large Reminders collections.
